Frieze London 2026 runs from Wednesday 14 October to Sunday 18 October 2026 in a temporary pavilion in The Regent's Park, London. Frieze Masters runs on the same dates in the northern half of the park, and the free Frieze Sculpture trail opens earlier, from mid-September, in the English Gardens.
Frieze London shows contemporary work from around 160 galleries; Frieze Masters covers art from antiquity to the late twentieth century. Most serious buying happens on the preview days at the start of the week, before the fair opens to the general public at the weekend.
Preview access is by invitation from a gallery or through the fair's VIP programme. The first hours of the first preview day are the tightest access of the week and the reason collectors travel — by Friday the best works in a booth are usually already reserved.
Fair week is bigger than the two tents. Christie's, Sotheby's and Phillips schedule their October evening sales around it, Mayfair and St James's galleries run private views all week, and the institutions — Tate Modern, the Royal Academy, the Serpentine — time their major openings to the same days.
Where to stay: the practical geography is Marylebone and Regent's Park for walking distance to the fair, Mayfair for the galleries and auction houses, and Fitzrovia or Soho for the dinners. The Regent's Park side is quieter; Mayfair puts you in the middle of the evening calendar.
Booking window: London hotel rates in mid-October are priced like high summer, and fair week is the single busiest cultural week in the London calendar. Six months out is the practical minimum for a good room; three months out means compromise on either the hotel or the location.
